Frozen

Hello my blog! Remember me? I haven't written anything for over half a year already. How that much time passed so fast, I can't imagine. Anyways, I'm stuck in class and I'm bored as fudge, so I decided to type. I honestly don't know what I'm gonna type about, but who cares? :))

So right now, I'm a classroom. But not just any classroom. This classroom has this advanced technology designed to "increase" the amount of comfort for those within the four walls of the room. This state-of-the-art function is apparently a breakthrough in modern technology, but it's not THAT rare. Many high class buildings have this feature built in. Those that don't experience this technology on a daily basis embrace its effects with open arms, but to those that have already gotten used to it, it sometimes becomes a hindrance in productivity. This hassling technology is called the Air Conditioning System.

Often called 'aircon' in some countries or abbreviated AC or A/C in most countries (which for me is short for Agitating Cold), the air conditioning system is not a luxury for all. No, I'm not saying that it is monopolized by the upper and middle class (though that may be the case), but that not all people enjoy the effects of synthesized winter minus the snow. Sure, the cold is a refreshing escape from summer's high temperatures, but during the cold season, it should be illegal to turn the thermostat too low.

In this classroom, it's not hard to see that I'm the only one who disapproves of this unnecessary waste of electricity. My colleagues are wrapped up in extra shirts and jackets. One of them even resorted to wearing socks on his hand to protect his fingers from the cold. The moment our professor announced a quick snack break, the room was empty of shivering students. We stayed huddled together in the hallway, where open windows provided a safe haven from the blistering cold. Complaints about the air conditioner were heard from left to right. The suggestion to have the air conditioner turned off popped up everywhere.

Even I admit that not ALL air conditioners are like this. But our classroom in particular had the temperature set really low. Usually, I'm the only one who complains about the aircon, even though my jacket is part of my daily outfit. Even though I came from America and migrated to a tropical country, I became abnormally sensitive to the cold. It came as a surprise that I was not the only one with a chill.

Well I guess there's not much that I can actually do about the temperature, so I decided to just sit it out and brace the frigid air until the discussion is finished. It's alright. I've always wanted to be a talking snowman.

Cookies

So my friend recommended that I'd write a random post today. Strangely enough, the first thing that popped into my head when I saw "random" on my screen was to babble on about my toenails. I mean, how can it get more random than that? But after a few minutes of thinking, I figured that would be a pretty short post, so I decided against that idea. I started scanning my room for inspiration, enumerating anything and everything in sight (I even considered 'water bottle', 'scissors', 'giraffe', and 'cupcake' to name a few.) and ended up choosing cookies. Yay! ^.^

Cookies. There are many varieties of cookies, as most people are already aware. Chocolate chip, oatmeal, butter, sugar, and more. They're kinda like the pizza of desserts, with all the different toppings and recipes to choose from. My love for cookies actually shows in my blog's background, which features Cookie Monster from Sesame Street. Even my header screams SHE LIKES COOKIES. So if you don't get that, I don't know what I'm gonna do.

Lately, one of my friends started selling oatmeal and cinnamon cookies around school every Monday. Whenever I see him, I'd run towards him screaming "cookies!". At that time, I wouldn't care even if I had little to no money left, I would buy at least one. Since I always buy from him, I get them at discounted prices too! Sooo, more cookies for me. :D

I don't know why I love cookies so much. I just do. I mean, who doesn't love a good cookie? I would probably survive even if I had to live on just cookies and milk (but I'd have a better chance of getting diabetes that way). And speaking of milk, doesn't it go great with cookies? Dunk a cookie in a glass of milk for a seconds and when you take a bite, it's so soft, all soaked in dairy goodness. The only downside is if you leave the cookie in the milk a little too long. It ends up crumbling into the glass and you'll have to take a while to fish the cookie bits out. But they still taste good all the same.

Oooh, all this talk of cookies is getting me hungry. I guess it's time for me to start rummaging through my cupboards for some cookies to munch. So I'll leave this post with an apology for being a little too random and making no sense. I just hope that my post has also awaken the cookie monster in you. :)

Plans

Hello my blog! I missed you so much! I haven't had any time for blogging lately. Life has been pretty hectic recently. But finally, I have time to wind down for a bit and relax. Finals just finished, and a new term is approaching soon.

Vacation. It's what most people look forward to after a long time of studying or working. It could mean a trip to the beach, a wild party, or even just a cup of chocolate and a nice book. It's a way to just relax and have fun doing anything you want. Some people like to go with the flow during their vacations, but there are others that like to plan things out.

Say that you were given a two month vacation. What would you do? Plan a trip to another country? Go site-seeing? Visit some relatives? Or would you just keep yourself at hope and spend the entire day in your pajamas? Different people have different perspectives as to how they want to spend their free time. What the word 'vacation' means to you could be entirely different from the thoughts of the person next to you. And that's fine. It's our own thoughts and opinions, so why should others influence us?

Now think about this. You just finished an entire term of stress in college. You passed all of your finals, submitted all of your projects. You're relieved that you actually survived the entire term with all of your limbs intact. Your long-awaited vacation is just about to start. But wait, there's a catch. The term break is only three days long.

What would YOU do? Actually, there are many things that can be done in the span of three days. You can catch up on sleep that you lost during the finals week. You can watch a few series that you missed out on. You can play a few games. You could spend your vacation like any other long weekend.

But then again, would you really want your vacation to be that monotonous? I personally wouldn't. I mean, this is still different from your normal long weekend. This is the only time where there is no stress involved. No worrying about assignments due on Monday. No fretting over quizzes and tests the following week. No nothing.

I would prefer to spend my short vacation having a blast. And that's exactly what I'm planning to do. My bags are packed and ready to go. I'm gonna be going on a two day / one night trip to Subic with my friends. And boy, our schedule is packed! We have some time at the beach, hiking, eating out, and just having fun. It's time to just forget about the start of classes for a while, and just to enjoy the time now.

Day 3: A YouTube Video

So normally someone would probably post a YouTube video that's inspirational or means a lot to them. I, on the other hand, would post a video of a poptart cat flying through space. Yes, I am that weird. Deal with it.

I was supposed to post Rebecca Black's music video for Friday, but I figured I would lose the few readers I have left. I have no idea why I'm posting a video as random as this instead of something inspirational. I'm guessing it's just to balance out the randomness of this blog. Oh well.

When I first watched this video, I got addicted. I started searching for Nyan Cat covers, variations, and other random stuff on YouTube. I even went to http://nyan.cat and stayed on the site until I had to turn the PC off. I was THAT addicted. And you should be addicted too. ^^ So just sit back and watch the greatness that is Nyan Cat. :3

Before and After

I didn't go home for the weekends this week since I had so much to do. Community service orientation. Props making. College government pictorial. Sleepovers. Community service. Math and stat camp. Note card making. Pre-activity requirements. Eat. Sleep.

Yep, that was pretty much my entire weekend wrapped up in a nutshell. I don't understand why or how my schedule got this hectic, but this just means I need to manage my time better. I need to balance out my academics with my social life, Math Circle, CGS, Pump Up, and more. Oh joy.

Well anyways, I feel REALLY happy about I've done. I've been pretty productive these past few days (except for the fact that I haven't been able to work on my note cards a lot [I'll get to that later on today].) so I had some time to play around and goof off. I played some games when my friends came over to visit, and I even had time to browse YouTube for a while (which I rarely have time to do nowadays). But this Sunday, I decided to be more productive. So I cleaned up my condo. ^^

As you can see, my condo looked like a total pigsty. And I don't deny that. I mean, come on. It's obvious that a slob inhabits the place. So how did I get started? Simple. I threw everything on the floor and started sorting them all out. And no, I haven't started cleaning yet when I took the before picture. I may have gotten the sniffles because of all the dust in my condo, but I'd say that it was well worth it to finally see my floor once again. :')

Rainy Days and Tuesdays

Just the other day, I was busy ranting about how my body clock won't let me fall asleep. Well now I can't STAY asleep either. -_- Whoop-dee-doo. I only had 4 hours of sleep til I woke up. And once I'm awake, there's no going back to dreamland. So here I am, stuck with nothing to do on a rainy Tuesday. And here's the best part: I woke up at 6AM, but my class doesn't start until 11AM. So that's 5 hours of pure boredom on my part. That's kinda why I decided to just type. And type. And type some more.

You might ask: What is this post about? Well I'll tell you this. It's about nothing in particular. I'm not gonna handle any specific topic in this post. This is just cause of my boredom. So if you don't like posts that have no meaning, just keep scrolling (or clicking) away.

So what am I gonna talk about? Here it is: Random shit. Yep, that's right. This is gonna be a post where I just rant about my life and how bored I am. Exciting right? Yeah, I know you're interested. Deep, deep, DEEP down inside you're just dying to know more about me and how I have the sniffles today. So worry not, I shall not disappoint in providing you an insight as to what I am thinking as of now and other trivial matters. And like it or not, you ARE gonna like this post.

So. Hmm. Well, it's a Tuesday. And it's raining. And I have the sniffles. *Achoo*

...

Okay, this is harder than I thought. ANYWAYS. Let me just talk about what I've done lately.

So you're probably aware that it's already July. Yep, June has already come and gone, and a new month lies in wait for us. And what's the first thing that comes to my mind when I hear "July"? Of course it would be the 4th of July! I know I'm currently residing in the Philippines, but that won't stop my from celebrating with the rest of my home country. Even my condo unit has a sorta patriotic feel to it. Garlands outline the border of my entertainment system, flashing red, white, and blue. My right hand is also sporting a red, white, and blue design (which I just painted this morning when I woke up).

What else is new? Well I guess that the fact that it's pouring outside this early is something worthwhile to talk about. I mean, it's been pretty hot out lately, so the sudden rain is a nice change. I guess this marks the start of the rainy season here. And, as a student, that means only one thing: CLASS SUSPENSIONS. I'm guessing that almost every student that has class today is praying for an announcement of some sort so that they have a reason to just kick back and relax at home. Even if I'm bored out of my mind here, I want to hear those sweet words that I can keep myself glued to my sofa. I mean who wants to have class? o.O

Honestly, I think it's harder to blog about nothing than to just come up with a topic. It's kinda hard to just write without heading anywhere with it. Or maybe it's just because I'm too sleepy to think? I dunno. Oh well. I guess I'll stop for now and write more when I can think straight again. Thanks for reading even though it was kinda a waste of your time. ☺
